Tell me about you...
Last year proved that we can offer folks an incredible time at our venue. They enjoy our spaces, and especially enjoy the events we present and the great food, music, and different types of drinks we offer. This year, we would like to expand our team and the skills and talents of each.
To assist us in best fitting you into our team, as well as training needed, please answer the survey below the best you can. Also, as you consider fitting into our team, we want you to be realistic how that may best suit your current life schedule.
We generally look for persons that fit into three different categories; Core staff, Second Tier staff, and Third Tier staff.
Core staff is defined as very consistent and fairly diverse in your abilities and flexibility, relative to what events we have.
Second Tier staff can appear in many different ways. One example might be you are available to bartend every Thursday night. Another might be you can bartend every other Wednesday night. Another might be the desire to work any available event most any day every third week. And so on.
Third Tier staff typically means more of our backup pool. You’d like to work once in a while, but not too consistent. Your schedule may not allow more than that. But you’d still like to be part of our team to contribute to the great times we provide to our guests, while enriching and expanding your own personal development and talents.
Keep in mind, while this particular survey is focused on bartending, we also have needs in the areas of kitchen help, hosting, cleaning, staging, pizza chefs, and general event staff. Any of these areas that you feel you can also be cross trained in to some level, please let us know.
Finally, I look forward to including you in future trainings to continually improve skills. Alika Williams is an experienced mixologist and the recently appointed bar manager at 45th Parallel in New Richmond. His prior engagement was at Marvel Bar in downtown Minneapolis, which did not survive Covid, but was highly regarded as one of the finer bars in the metro area. He is one our of our trainers.
You will not be paid for this training (and as well it won’t cost you to attend); please look at this as a unique and interesting opportunity to hone your skills from an expert, visit 45th distillery, and more importantly a sort of a “working interview” for what could be an exciting second job for you at this place known as The Enchanted Barn. When you attend a training, please realize that the level of expertise of the trainer is not an expectation of you, rather, wherever each of our skill levels reside, it will raise them.
Thank you,
Lorin Humphrey

P.S. Please answer all the survey questions that you can. I realize there may be some you will not know how to answer, do your best.
